
Carlos Benaïm
Carlos Benaïm, born in Tangier, Morocco, is considered one of America's greatest living perfumers. He trained as a chemical engineer before joining International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 1967[1]. With a career spanning over 50 years, Benaïm was named Master Perfumer in 2013[1]. His style is described as intuitive, often centered around strong ideas and featuring orange blossom as a signature note[2]. Benaïm has created numerous iconic fragrances, including Calvin Klein Eternity for Men, Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds, Ralph Lauren Polo, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, and YSL Libre[1][2][5]. He has received multiple accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Perfumers in 2004 and the Perfumer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fragrance Foundation in 2014[1].
